Volunteer of the Quarter
Q: When did you first join PMI-SVC?
A: April 2021.
Q: What were you looking for when your joined?
A: Professional guidance, professional development, and employment opportunities.
Q: What have you learned (professionally and personally) through your volunteering journey?
A: I have learned that there are some really awesome people that volunteer for the PMI-SVC and how much I have missed interacting with people that are not in the food service industry. I was an IT Manager for 16 years and currently run a catering business.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being a volunteer for the Chapter?
A: Meeting and learning from the PMI-SVC volunteers. I would like to help the chapter by improving membership engagement, in particular membership employment opportunities. I really enjoy the meetings, collaborating with members on projects, and the opportunity to help.
Please complete this sentence: Being a volunteer for the Chapter has given me the opportunity to:
A: Learn from Project Managers that are not in my confined geographical area and to expand my professional network. I am not a social media person and I prefer to actually get to meet people. As I interact with members, I get the opportunity to learn from their current real world, day to day, experiences. Being a volunteer has been very rewarding.
Q: What would you advise PMI-SVC members that are considering volunteering?
A: My advice would be to jump in and help. There is a place for you at PMI-SVC.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: Coach youth basketball and cook.
