About Design Thinking: Design Thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that businesses or individuals can use to understand people (members, clients, users), challenge assumptions, define or redefine problems and create innovative solutions to ultimately prototype and test. Involving five different modes—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is often used to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown.
Agenda:
- Design Thinking Overview: What is Design Thinking and how does it work?
- How Design Thinking can be used within the Agile framework
- Detailed description of each Design Thinking mode with hands-on exercises using various tools
- Information gathering
- Gaining clarity about the problem to be solved
- Team brainstorming
- Developing prototypes to test
- Time for questions and answers
Cost: The event is free to both chapter members and non-members. And registration is limited to first 30 registrations.
**Please let us know in advance if for any reason you are unable to attend**
Guides: The sessions will be facilitated by Innoveate, who has been providing free Design Thinking workshops and training to Project Management Institute Sacramento Valley Chapter members and chapter leaders for several years. Part of their mission is giving back to the community by volunteering their time and helping various volunteer-based, non-profit organizations - like the PMI-SVC - solve problems for their organizations.
