The Project Management Institute, Sacramento Valley Chapter (PMI-SVC) Consultants-Contractors Breakfast Forum primary objective is to promote an informal gathering of project managers, working in the Consultant or Contractor mode of employment, discussing
(1) current topics related to this mode of employment,
(2) receive suggestions from the other attendees on current challenges, and/or
(3) share/receive information on other items of interest.
These meetings are open to anyone who is interested in our group and discussions. Typical meetings are facilitated roundtable discussions. Agenda topics solicited from the attendees during introductions. We share our experiences and knowledge on a number of project management topics and practices.
Speaker: Nancy Wright :
Nancy Wright is an active instructor and speaking volunteer for PMI-SVC. Her contributions have included 1- and 2-day Agile Application workshops, Career Development speaking engagements, tips and tricks about Product Planning for Agile projects, and comparing waterfall and Agile approaches for key project management knowledge areas, roles, practices, artifacts, and organizational change management.
Nancy’s career has focused on project, program, portfolio, and strategic management within the health care and IT industries. Her Agile knowledge and skills have been honed through a variety of business experiences in both the private and public sectors, always with a focus on delivering positive and successful client outcomes.
Nancy is passionate about training and coaching the Agile/Scrum framework, developed through practical experience on enterprise-wide business/IT project implementations and enhanced through certifications and coaching contracts. Nancy considers herself a lifelong learner and holds many Agile certifications: CSM®, CSPO®, CSP-SM®, PMI-ACP®, SAFe SPC5, ICP-ACC, and CAL I. She teaches Agile workshops through Sacramento training organizations, emphasizing application and adoption with hands-on exercises. She’s licensed as a trained facilitator for The Agile FluencyTM Model, providing guided self-assessments to help teams determine their position on the Agile Fluency pathway and to develop recommendations for leadership regarding organizational investment opportunities to advance the application of Agile. In addition, Nancy’s PMP® certification and early experience following waterfall practices provide her with the unique ability to help others “bridge” the transformation and mindset shift required for successful Agile adoption.
