Topic:  A Day in the Life of a Health Care Project Manager 

Join us as we expose the reality of Health Care IT Project Management from the eyes of three seasoned PMs responsible for projects from 30+ departments. We will walk you through real clinical projects from inception to completion and will share our experience from collaborations with clinicians and organizational leaders to achieve project success for University of California, Davis Health. 

Speakers: Jeremy Dacuycuy, Stefan Toma, and Daniel Canula PMPs (See Bios below) 

Meeting Frequency: The Forum meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Description:  The Technology Forum provides everyone – Chapter Members and Non-Members – with opportunities to attend presentations from industry experts on topics related to the use of Technology, Technology Trends, and Project Management Methodologies to enable success in Project Management. Industry experts with specialized knowledge and experience are invited to make these presentations in an interactive, learning environment.

Jeremy Dacuycuy has been involved with Projects for over 20 years, 11 of which were in Healthcare IT.  Jeremy managed a wide breadth of projects with multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental teams including projects that need TLC; the success of these resulted in significant cost savings and efficiency improvements.  Jeremy has an M.S. in Information Systems from University of San Francisco and a B.S. from CSU, Sacramento. He has both a PMP and PMI-ACP.  He enjoys his work at UC, Davis Health as an IT Senior Project Manager.  For fun, he is happy playing tabletop board/console games with his wife and kids, started cycling, and is an avid foodie traveler. 

  

Stefan Toma is a Romanian immigrant who started his career at University of California in 2002. Throughout his career, he held positions in Gov’t & Community Relations, Nursing, and School of Medicine. Currently, Stefan works as an IT Project Manager. He holds an MPA-Health Administration degree from USF, he is Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile (PMI-ACP) certified, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Stefan is married and has two daughters. He is passionate about multi-cultural diversity, music, travel, and train modeling. 

  

Daniel Canuela is a Technical Project Manager for UC Davis Health.  He is leading projects in Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Cardiology, and Food and Nutrition.  He has 15 years of experience in IT and leading projects in various capacities.  His additional career expertise is in asset management, business systems analysis, process improvement, and project management.  Daniel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2004 from California State University, Sacramento and ITIL Foundation Certified.
