PMO Forum
Description: The PMI-SVC PMO Forum is intended for anyone involved with or interested in the activities, operations and/or processes of Project Management Offices (PMOs). It is a monthly lunchtime forum and question/answer session on a variety of topics pertinent to anybody in a PMO, or to those contemplating joining or creating a new PMO.
Additionally, lunch is provided to those who register prior to the day of the meeting.
Meeting Frequency & Location
The PMO Forum meeting monthly, from January through October, generally on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Due to holiday conflicts, there are no meetings in November or December.

About Kathy Takayama:
Kathy Takayama is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Busines. She is living a lifelong dream to share decades of business experiences with future business leaders as she teaches Project Management and Operations to both undergraduate and graduate students.
She recently retired, after 20 years at Hewlett Packard, were she led global R&D programs ranging from printer networking to cyber security to telecommunications. Her most recent role was as Chief of Staff and Operations Officer for a large business unit. Prior to HP, Kathy spent a decade running IT programs for USBank in the Sacramento area.
Kathy is also a U.S. Navy veteran, where served as a Naval Nuclear Power School Instructor. She enjoys spending her free time volunteering to honor veterans. Past positions include Board of Directors for the MBV Foundation, Board of Directors for Women’s Veterans Giving, Founder and Co-Chair of the HP Veterans Employee Resource Network, and Founder and Chairman of the Takayama Scholarship Foundation where she leads a team that raise $10,000 in scholarships annually, in honor of her late husband, Michael.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recently nominated Kathy for the Women’s Leadership Award, the Sacramento Kings honored her as a “Hometown Hero,” she was recognized by U.S. Representative Kevin Kiley for her community service, and honored by USC MBV as someone who has served her country and continues to server her community.
Kathy is a certified Project Management Profession (PMP) and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM). She also has a BS in Applied Mathematics from UC Davis and a Master of Business for Veterans (MBV) from USC.
As a longtime member of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of PMI, she is excited to meet with the PMO Forum for this lunchtime discussion.
