Presentation Title: Well-Read PM Book Club
This month’s book: Humanocracy by Gary Hamel and Michele Zanini
This month's book is a slight departure from our previous features in terms of style.
Similarly, however, it presents an argument that we will discuss and debate based on our own expereinces.
Humanocracy presents a data-driven argument for "excising bureaucracy and replacing it with something better. The book lays out a detailed blueprint for creating organizations that are as inspired and ingenious as the human being inside them.
Topics include:
Motivation: Rallying colleagues to the challenges of busting bureaucracy.
Models: Leveraging the experience of organizations that have profitably challenged the bureaucratic status quo.
Mindsets: Escaping the industrial age thinking that frustrates progress.
Mobilization: Activating a pro-challenge coalition to hack outmoded management systems and processes.
Migration: Embedding the principles of humanocracy-ownership, markets, meritocracy, community, openness, experimentation, and paradox-in your organization's DNA

Director of Marketing and Engagement for the PMI-Sacramento Valley Chapter
An avid reader and life-long learner. I began the book club at the encouragement of coworkers and friends with who I would regularly discuss the development books I read with. I’m always looking for new ways to work and think and love discussing and debating how the various content is relevant and can be applied to a range of situations.
