Join the PMI Sacramento Valley Chapter for an evening of professional connection, conversation, and learning with members of the local project management community. Attend in person or join us virtually for this hybrid PMI-SVC Dinner Meeting.
For in-person attendees, the evening begins from 5:00–6:00 PM with registration, dinner, and open networking. Arrive early, enjoy a meal, reconnect with colleagues, meet new professionals, and build relationships across the Sacramento Valley project management community.
From 6:00–7:00 PM, both in-person and virtual attendees will join us for a keynote-style presentation followed by an interactive Q&A, providing an opportunity to explore the evening’s topic and engage directly with the speaker.
Following the program, in-person attendees are invited to continue the conversation and networking until 7:30 PM.

Creating Opportunity: Why Some People Seem Lucky—and What They Do Differently
We all know someone who seems to be unusually lucky. They hear about opportunities before everyone else. Someone thinks of them when a new role opens. They get invited onto an important project, introduced to the right person, or offered an opportunity they never applied for.
But how much of that is really luck?
In this keynote-style presentation, Nate Champion explores the idea that many of the opportunities we attribute to luck are actually the result of conditions we can intentionally create. Drawing from his own career transitions, leadership experiences, research behind Connector Profile®, and stories from his upcoming book Nobody’s Coming to Find You, Nate examines how visibility, relationships, generosity, trust, consistency, and action influence the opportunities available to us.
The session challenges a common career assumption: that if we work hard enough, perform well enough, or earn enough credentials, eventually someone will notice.
Sometimes they don't.
Instead, professionals can become more intentional about becoming discoverable, understood, trusted, and ultimately recommendable.
Participants will leave with a practical way to think about their own “opportunity readiness” and concrete actions they can take now, before they need their next opportunity.
Virtual Attendance
This event is offered in a hybrid format, allowing attendees to participate remotely in the presentation and Q&A from 6:00–7:00 PM.
Registration pricing is the same for both in-person and virtual attendance. Meals are provided only to in-person attendees. Virtual attendees will receive the online meeting link at the email address provided during registration prior to the event.
Registration & Refund Policy
All registrations and ticket purchases are final. Because attendance counts, meals, venue arrangements, and other event expenses must be planned in advance, PMI-SVC is unable to provide refunds for attendees who are unable to attend after registering.
