Topic: Mentorship Program Summer 2022 Kick-off Meeting Speaker: Mentees, Mentors, and Mentorship Program Volunteers PMI-SVC is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for the Summer 2022 iteration of our Chapter’s Mentor Program! This is the opportunity for our chapter members to mentor those new to project management or to learn new skills from others in the field with more experience. Summer 2022 iteration of the mentor program is scheduled to kick- off on July 13th, 2022. Once applications are received, the Mentor Program Team will get in touch with applicants on mentor/mentee assignments. Traditional estimation fails because it takes the wrong approach to solve the wrong problem. We will uncover how and why relative estimation leads to better predictability. You will learn and practice the Easy Estimation With Story Points technique. This provides better predictability while spending less time estimating. Learning Objectives Participants will be able to quickly estimate the size of stories (or features or tasks) with their teams Participants will learn how to avoid unproductive discussions about 'how big is a story point?' Participants will understand the value and mechanics of relative sizing/estimation Participants will learn a technique to bootstrap a team's estimation 'point scale' Bio Chris Sims is a certified scrum trainer, agile coach, and recovering C++ developer who helps organizations improve their productivity and happiness. Chris is the founder of Agile Learning Labs and the co-author of two best-selling scrum books: The Elements of Scrum and Scrum: a Breathtakingly Brief and Agile Introduction.
