Hal Urban has been writing about good news, positive words, and good character for more than thirty years. This may be his best, and most timely, work yet. Even before the staggering losses of 2020, we were starving for GOOD NEWS. His main point is that there’s actually far more good news in the world than there is bad. It just needs more exposure. It has the power to uplift and enrich our lives.
Hal has been speaking, both nationally and internationally, about the impact good news has on us, and how we can spread it, since 1995. At the urging of his friends, former students, colleagues, readers, and people who have heard him speak, he has put his message into writing. You’re in for a treat.

John Burbank: Volunteer Of The Quarter - April 2021 - June 2021
The PMI Sacramento Valley Chapter thanks and recognizes you for your outstanding efforts!
How long have you been volunteering for PMI-SVC?
I have only been a volunteer for a couple of years. I started out helping on a few technical issues that Viji and Brad needed assistance on. After that, I started doing the PMI submissions for the meetings, which is what I am doing now.
What do you enjoy about being a volunteer for the Chapter?
I really want people to be successful, so I do what I can to further the organization and the people within it. The PMI-SVC is a great organization with a large base of volunteers at various levels that make this organization grow and thrive. I am proud to be part of a group that has so many volunteers, bringing together their talents to build the PMI-SVC into a great organization.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife of 42 years, traveling, reading, or just hanging out together. I can also be found in my workshop making sawdust. I like working with wood, discovering new and interesting things to make.
