9 Intrinsic Motivations of Teammates

Learn the Nine Intrinsic Motivations of Teammates Description:   One of the biggest challenges for new managers is understanding what motivates their team members.  Likely, they have a good idea of what motivates themselves, and they may project their own motivation onto others.  That strategy may or may not work. Some individuals may have completely different motivations, and a new manager may struggle to understand those differences. The Enneagram describes nine distinct motivations.  By knowing the core Enneagram style of each team member, the new manager can understand each person’s intrinsic motivation and can assign work in a motivating way. The Art of Leading a Team

03-18-2021 6:00 pm -7:30 pm
Free

Title: The Art of Leading a Team

Presentation Description:  Silver bullet after silver bullet methodologies predominantly failed to deliver the transformational outcomes that they promised. The irony is that every single one of these methodologies created value somewhere, that’s how they got popular!  In all instances where they were used to achieve transformational outcomes successfully, they were used by effective leaders and applied to the proper use case. Having management or executive title doesn’t make you a leader.

No one hires a leader because they want their organization to be the same in six months or a year. Leadership is about change, and change is fundamentally about people. If we were to simplify the success criteria for a leader, it would be “they enable their team to get sh*t done that enables the achievement of the teams shared objectives.”

Presenter:

SLesnick

Scott Lesnick is a high content international keynote speaker who is motivational, instructional and educational in style and tone. He presents powerful keynotes and interactive breakout sessions, webinars at 50+ events a year and is a consultant and author.

Capucine Chatman: Volunteer Of The Quarter -October 2020 - December 2020

The PMI Sacramento Valley Chapter thanks and recognizes you for your outstanding efforts!

1.  How long have you been volunteering for PMI-SVC?
I moved from St. Louis, Mo to  Sacramento, California in June of 2019. I joined the PMI-SVC chapter and started volunteering in Nov/Dec of 2019 under the VP of Professional Development.

2.  What roles have you filled?
I started as a Director of Dinner Meetings, now I am the Director of Forums. In 2021, I will be the new VP of Governance and Administration.

3.  What do you enjoy about being a volunteer for the Chapter?
I enjoy giving back and learning new things. Being a volunteer allows me to do both.  As a volunteer  I  have made many new connections and the PMI network allows me not only to share what I know but in exchange I am able to learn new skills/strategies from the membership.  I am extremely passionate about project management, being a volunteer allows me to use my skill set to advance the profession

4.  What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I am creative. I paint, draw, bake and plant my garden. I also like to restore/rehab antique or old furniture. I also consider myself a professional student, I spend a lot of time reading, writing and learning about new technology and software
