Presentation:
When applying Agile techniques to software configuration and development projects, testing cannot be overlooked, as it is a critical part of the development process. With Agile techniques, it becomes easier to detect bugs earlier in the development lifecycle, which allows developers to fix bugs quickly, which effectively lowers the cost of each bug. The iterative nature of Agile techniques increases the testing scope with each iteration without increasing the time allowed to complete testing. Traditionally this constraint has limited the scope of testing done in later iterations.
To save schedule, automated testing tools have become an essential component for the adoption of Agile processes. Automation not only shortens the timeline for the testing cycle in later iterations but also allows that testing to be done off hours. Using shift workload distribution can even reduce overhead cost and increase staff productivity.
